Hope College’s Markets & Morality student organization will host a viewing of Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game, followed by a discussion with the film’s writer-director — Meredith Bragg — on Monday, Feb. 2 starting at 7 p.m., at the Knickerbocker Theater in downtown Holland.

Rated 95% by Rotten Tomatoes, “Pinball” is a directorial debut of brothers Austin and Meredith Bragg that presents the true story of Roger Sharpe’s (played by actor Mike Faist) testimony to the Manhattan City Council where he provided a demonstration that pinball was a game of skill, not chance. The film explores the personal life of Sharpe and his determination to overturn New York’s 35-year-old ban on the game.

Markets & Morality is hosting this event with cosponsors from the departments of Economics and Business, Communication and Political Science; the Pre-Law Society and the college’s newspaper, The Anchor. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:20 p.m.
