Amelia Mendelsohn
Visiting Assistant Professor of ArtAmelia Mendelsohn teaches basic courses in drawing and painting at Hope College as a visiting assistant professor. She previously taught as an instructor at the University of Notre Dame and currently serves on the board for Sweet Briar College’s Friends of Art.
Her current paintings explore family dynamics, conflict, and memory within the home through a feminist understanding of the domestic sphere. Professor Mendelsohn’s work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. in Virginia, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. In 2022, she participated in Kylemore Abbey Global Centre’s artist residency program and exhibited her work in Ireland. She has been teaching at Hope since 2023.
