"Our Inevitable Expansion," an exhibition of work by graduating majors in art and art history at Hope College, will featured in the gallery of the De Pree Art Center from Friday, April 7, through Sunday, May 7.

          There will be an opening reception on Friday,
  April 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
          The public is invited to both the reception and
  the exhibition.  Admission is free.
          Work represented in the show ranges from highly
  representational pencil drawings and acrylic paintings to
  large-scale mixed media sculptural installations.  Also on
  display are the senior papers of graduating art history
  majors.
          The exhibiting studio art majors are Carrie Berlin
  of Eastpointe; Letty Bowling of Byron Center; Jeff DeWitt of
  Adrian; Jennifer Ernst of Westerville, Ohio; Dawn Garland of
  Dorr; Angela Kidder of Grand Rapids; Matthew Morgan of
  Rockford; Christine Orejuela of Grand Rapids; Katrin Seid of
  North Muskegon; Kari Schneider of Birmingham; Kathryn
  Shelley of Saginaw; John Tyrrell of Chelsea; and Joel
  VanderKamp of Midland.
          The art history majors with papers featured are
  Allison Ash of Grosse Pointe; Carrie Berlin of Eastpointe;
  Erin Selmer of Seymour, Wis.; and Dana Vanderplow of
  Jenison.  The students will give slide presentations of
  their papers on Wednesday, April 19, and Wednesday, April
  26.
          The De Pree Art Center is located at 12th Street
  and Columbia Avenue.  Regular gallery hours are Monday-
  Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to
  5 p.m.  Hours may be reduced during breaks and holidays.
