team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division III
championship tournament.

team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division III
championship tournament.
The Flying Dutch are one of 26 teams who will first compete
in regional tournaments for the right to advance to the national
finals.
Hope will play in a Midwest Regional hosted by Kenyon
College in Gambier, Ohio on Friday and Saturday. The Dutch
(19-4) will play Wheaton, Ill. (20-1) on Friday while host Kenyon
(15-4) will meet DePauw, Ind. (18-4). The winners will meet
Saturday. The regional champion will compete in the national
finals at St. Pater, Minn. from May 19-24.
The Flying Dutch will be competing in the NCAA tournament
for the fifth time in school history. They bowed in the first
round in 1987, 1989 and 1998. The 1988 team finished fifth in the
nation.
Coach Karen Page's Dutch captured their fifth consecutive
MIAA championship this spring.
Members of the Hope team competing in the tournament will
include junior Jennifer Abraham of Portage, Mich., senior
Jennifer Esterline of Coldwater, Mich., junior Angie Locke of
Byron Center, Mich., senior Jessica Mulder of Queensbury, N.Y.,
junior Julie Murray of Spring Lake, Mich., sophomore Emily Reeves
of Hudsonville, Mich. and senior Jennifer Smith of Holland, Mich.
