Hope College's anchor symbol comes alive in the Anchor Trio, a piano trio opening this year's Music Faculty Recital Series on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The trio's two original members, violinist Mihai Craioveanu and cellist Richard Piippo, are joined by pianist Mansoon Han. Han joined the faculty in 2001, and takes over for Joan Conway, who retired from the Hope faculty in 2001.
The three musicians will be performing the "Trio in C major" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the "Trio in G minor" by Bedrich Smetana.
The recital series will continue this fall with concerts on Sunday, Oct. 27, and Sunday, Nov. 10. Reflecting a change in the starting time from previous years, the recitals now begin at 3 p.m.
Nykerk Hall of Music is located on the former 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
