Multi-Dove award nominee Sarah Masen will perform at the Knickerbocker Theatre on Friday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m., presenting the second concert in Hope College's Christian Music Series.
A leading contemporary Christian musician, Masen had three top-10 hits from her 1996, self-titled debut album, including the number-one single, "All Fall Down." She also received Dove award nominations for New Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year.
Her follow-up 1998 release, "Carry Us Through," included the top-10 hit, "75 Grains of Sand." Her most recent release, "The Dreamlife of Angels," has continued her combination of pop music with an edge.
"I expect the music to fall into the hands of people who are frustrated with the popular outlets of faith and community," Masen said, "and who are longing for lives of integrity and beauty."
"Contemporary Christian Music Magazine" has said that Masen "has been touched by angels." Her visit to Hope College is being co-sponsored by the Hope College Veritas Forum, to be held in January of 2003.
Masen will start her day by leading Hope students in their short chapel service at 10:30 a.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
Tickets will be available to the general public for $10 each on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 8-9, and Monday- Friday, Nov. 11-15, at the box office in the theatre lobby of the DeWitt Center, which can be called at (616) 395-7890. Tickets will also be sold at the door, if available.
The Knickerbocker Theater is located at 86 E. 8th St. in downtown Holland.
