Tickets for the annual Hope College Christmas Vespers will be sold to the public on Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 9 a.m. in the DeWitt Center.

Christmas Vespers will be presented on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The performance schedule, two services on each day, reflects a change from the practice of previous years. In the past, one service was presented on Saturday and three on Sunday. The shift to the reduced Sunday schedule was made out of consideration of the event's student performers, according to Christmas Vespers chairperson Brad Richmond of the Hope music faculty. The college's semester examinations begin on Monday, Dec. 9.

The tickets will be sold at the student information desk in the main floor Collegiate Lounge of the DeWitt Center, which is located at 12th Street and Columbia Avenue.

The sale is scheduled to run until noon, but will end earlier if the supply of tickets runs out. Because the concerts traditionally sell out, persons wishing to purchase tickets for a particular service should consider arriving early and obtaining a place in line.

Tickets will be $5 each, with a limit of four tickets per person. No telephone orders will be accepted, and tickets will not be sold at the concerts.

Christmas Vespers was first held on Sunday, Dec. 7, 1941. Participating groups this year will include Hope's College Chorus, Chapel Choir, Symphonette, Brass Quartet and Flute Choir.
