The Hope College Symphonette concert on Friday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel will feature guest soprano Linda Dykstra.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Dykstra, a voice faculty member at Hope College, will join the Symphonette for two arias. The first, "Lascia: Chio pianga," comes from the opera "Rinaldo" by German composer Georg Frederic Handel. The second aria will be "Elle a fui, la tourtelle," from the opera "Tales of Hoffman" by Jules Massenet.

The program also includes a lighthearted overture by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, titled "La clemenza di Tito," and a romantic piece called by Richard Wagner titled "Siegfried Idyll." The program ends with Ludwig van Beethoven's "Symphony No. 1 in C Major."

The Hope College Symphonette has also been invited to perform at the Hart Performing Arts Concert Series on Friday, Nov. 14, where the group will perform the same program as during the Nov. 7 concert.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
