The Hope College Symphonette concert scheduled to take place on campus on Friday, Feb. 20, has been canceled. Although a general news release about the campus concert was not distributed, the event has appeared in our calendar listings and we felt that you should be alerted.
Instead of performing on campus, the Symphonette will be appearing with other students from Hope in a concert on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the Allendale Second Christian Reformed Church. The performance is part of the Allendale Cultural Enrichment Series. A news release about the Feb. 20 Allendale concert was distributed in late January.
The first half of the Feb. 20 show in Allendale will feature small ensembles and soloists, and the Hope College Symphonette will perform in the second half.
The men's a capella ensemble, 12th Street Harmony will sing in the first half of the Feb. 20 Allendale event, and there will also be a selection from Seymour Barab's opera, "Little Red Riding Hood." A wind ensemble has also been selected to perform.
Tickets for the Friday, Feb. 20, Allendale concert are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $10 for students, and are available at the Allendale Township office and Family Fare of Allendale. Ticket sales at the door will start at 7 p.m., if tickets are still available.
The Allendale Second Christian Reformed Church is located at 6950 Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale.
