Awards for outstanding performances on Hope's MIAA champion women;s soccer team have been announced by coach Leigh Sears.

The Flying Dutch successfully defended their conference championship and gained a berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs posting a 13-4-2 record.

Senior Dawn Gillam of Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern HS) was voted the team's most valuable player overall and most valuable offensive player. Gillam was also voted the most valuable player in the MIAA.

Senior Stephanie Bylsma of Hudsonville, Mich. (Hudsonville HS) was voted the team's most valuable defensive player while freshman Kayla Fryczynski of Petoskey, Mich. (Petsokey HS) was honored as the rookie of the year. Voted the most inspirational player was sophomore Kristine Krcmar of LaGrange, Ill. (Lyons Township HS).

Elected tri-captains of the 2005 team were juniors Negeen Masghati of Naperville, Ill. (Naperville Central HS), Tess Scholz of Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern HS), and Lauren Stieper of Dearbotn, Mich. (Dearborn HS).
