Awards for outstanding performances during the 2004 football season have been announced by coach Dean Kreps.

The Flying Dutchmen tied for second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and posted an overall 6-4 record.

Senior receiver Jake Schrock of Clarksville, Mich. (Lakewood HS) was voted the team's most valuable offensive player while senior back Andy Snyder of Berrien Springs, Mich. (Berrien Springs) was chosen the most valuable player on defense. Each player also received All-MIAA first team honors this fall.

Senior Bryan Scheffers of Portage (Kalamazoo Christian HS) was named the recipient of the Allen C. Kinney Award which is presented by the football coaching staff to a senior player for maximum contribution to the football program. This award is named in memory of Allen Kinney, a member of thp>e Hope College football team who died of cancer in his senior year in 1967, and has been presented since 1971.
