An orchid show will be featured in the greenhouse of the science center at Hope College from Thursday, April 28, through Friday, May 13.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Approximately 30-40 blooming orchids will be featured. Also on display will be the other plants contained in the greenhouse.

In addition, the greenhouse will be holding a hanging pot sale to support the facility's on-going operation. A total of 100 white hanging pots will be sold, featuring varieties including geraniums, impatiens, nemesia, trailing green plants and vinca vines. Each pot will be $10, payable at the department of biology's office during weekday business hours.

The greenhouse is located on the second floor of the college's science center, and is accessible from near the southwest corner of the original Peale Science Center. The biology office is adjacent to the main Schaap Atrium on the second floor of the new building. The science center is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.

The science center is open Mondays through Thursdays from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Fridays from 5 a.m. until 6 p.m., and will also be open during the afternoon of Saturday, May 7, in conjunction with Alumni Day activities at Hope. While not continuously staffed, the greenhouse is generally open from dawn to dusk when the building is open.
