Video projections and work with a composer in residence are just a couple of the unique elements of the Hope College Wind Symphony's performance on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The evening's program offers an assortment of pieces, including a work by Hope College composer-in-residence Fred Sturm, titled "Mt. Rainier: The Mountain that Was God." Sturm is director of jazz studies at Lawrence University, visiting Hope College for the week, teaching and observing rehearsals. The Jazz Ensemble will present a concert of his music on Friday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m.

Also featured on the concert will be Keith Talley, new professor of saxophone at Hope, who will perform the "Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Orchestra" by Ingolf Dahl.

The concert will close with a performance of Modest Petrovich Mussorgky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," which will feature video projections of the many paintings by Victor Hartmann upon which the piece is based.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
