The Hope College Orchestra's last concert of the season will feature two faculty members on Friday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The featured music faculty performers will be Huw Lewis, organist, and Andrew Le, pianist.

Lewis will perform the "Symphony No. 3 in C minor (Organ Symphony)" by Camille Saint-Saens, using the college's completely refurbished Skinner organ. Originally installed in 1929, the organ recently underwent a two-year restoration project that was completed earlier during the current school year.
Ernest Skinner's organs, particularly from the period during which Hope's was built, are considered among the best ever made.

Welsh-born organist Lewis has taught at Hope since 1990. He performs nationally and internationally on a regular basis, and has been featured at important meetings and conventions sponsored by many professional organizations including the American Guild of Organists and the Royal College of Organists. Lewis's playing has been broadcast in America and in Great Britain where he has made numerous recordings for the BBC.

The performance is the second of five performances featuring the Skinner organ. Other dates are April 24, Oct. 23, and Nov. 2. The Oct. 23 performance will feature Notre Dame (Paris) organist Olivier Lary, and the other two performances featured commissioned pieces.

Le will perform the "Concerto in D minor" by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Born in Saigon and raised in West Michigan, Le is currently a doctoral candidate at the Juilliard School where he studies under the guidance of Jerome Lowenthal. He was the winner of the 2004 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and gave his Carnegie Hall debut in the same year to critical acclaim.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., at College and 12th Street.
