Awards have been presented to Hope College tennis players by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).

The Flying Dutch, coached by Karen Page, finished third in the women's seasonal standings while the Flying Dutchmen, coached by Steve Gorno, placed fourth in the men's seasonal standings.

Senior Stephen Malvitz of Ada, Mich. (East Grand Rapids HS) was named the recipient of the league's Stowe Sportsmanship Award which is given by the league's coaches for contributions to team, leadership qualities and exemplification of Christian virtues and sportsmanship. The award has been presented annually since 1958.  Malvitz is the 18th Hope player to receive it and the seventh in the last eight years.  In 15 seasons under coach Gorno, the Stowe Sportsmanship Award has gone to a Hope player 10 times.

Malvitz was also named to the All-MIAA first team while freshman John Gardner of Granville, Ohio (Granville HS) received All-MIAA second team recognition.

Sophomore Samantha Stille of Holland, Mich. (Holland HS) received All-MIAA first team honors for the second consecutive year while freshman Ashley Austin of Spring Lake (Grand Haven HS) was presented All-MIAA second team honors.
