Mat Kearney and Meiko will perform through the Hope College Concert Series on Monday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. at Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

Tickets are $20 for the general public and $10 with a Hope College ID, and are available at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse.

Mat Kearney's music features a mix of hip-hop beats, pop choruses, acoustic folk and spoken verses.  His discography includes "Bullet" (2004) and "Nothing Left to Lose" (2006).  Noting his use of spiritual themes, "Christianity Today" called him "effective in bridging the sacred and secular, and hopefully making him one of Christian music's most promising artists for years to come."

Meiko cites artists including Patty Griffin, Sade and Portishead as her influences.  After hearing her perform at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, "Paste Magazine" editor Josh Jackson proclaimed her a "big success story" waiting to happen.  Her recently released debut album is available through iTUNES and CDBABY.

Mat Kearney and Meiko will be performing at Hope as part of a tour that also includes concerts in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, New York, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be called at (616) 395-7890.

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Ave., between Ninth and 11th streets.  Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., at the corner of College Avenue and 12th Street.

The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. the night of the concert.
