- Hope College will host a Martin Luther King "Praise Fest," a celebration of praise and worship, on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The event will feature the Hope College Gospel Choir under the direction of Bryan Lowe, with special guest Kenny Henderson and V.I.P. (Victory In Praise) from New Hope Baptist Church of Grand Rapids. It is scheduled in commemoration of the legacy of Dr. King and as an opportunity to worship together in striving for unity in community and among area churches.

The Praise Fest is scheduled in conjunction with the Civil Rights Celebration Week commemoration at the college. The week's events will culminate in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration featuring the theme "Listening, Learning and Living the Legacy" on Monday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
