Acclaimed singer-songwriter David Bazan will perform through the Hope College Concert Series on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 8 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre.

Tickets are $12 for the general public and $5 with a Hope College ID, and are available at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse.

Bazan was named to "Paste Magazine's" list of the Top-100 Living Songwriters in 2006, appearing at 85. He has been described as a gifted storyteller who weaves parables of spiritual conflict, suburban ennui and personal surrender into magnetic, well-crafted songs.

His appearance at Hope will follow an international tour that includes performances in England, Scotland, Norway and Sweden. In the coming months he will be performing in cities in the U.S. ranging from Grinnell, Iowa, to Seattle, Wash., to Portland, Ore., and San Francisco, Calif.

Bazan's most recent album is his solo EP "Fewer Moving Parts," released in 2007 by Barsuk Records. He previously fronted the band Pedro the Lion from 1995 to 2005 and was a principal in the electronic project "Headphones" in 2005.

The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be called at (616) 395-7890. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Ave., between Ninth and 11th streets. The Knickerbocker Theatre is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. Eighth St.

The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. the night of the concert.
