Hope College is sponsoring its annual Arts and Humanities Fair for high school students and faculty on Friday, Sept. 26.

Hope faculty and students from the departments of art and art history, dance, English, history, modern and classical languages, music, philosophy, religion and theatre will present lectures and demonstrations that will provide an introduction to the variety of courses in the arts and humanities at Hope. More than 120 students from Holland are anticipated.

Among the presentations are "Jazz Dance," "Walt Whitman's America," "Teenagers in Rome," "Brats, French Bread, and Sushi: What Food Tells Us about Culture," "Music Department Performance," "Acting Action," "Introduction to Contemporary Dance," "Tour of the De Pree Art Gallery," "What is Philosophy? Why major in Philosophy?" and "Southern Christianity: The Global Shift in World Christianity."

Additional activities include a panel discussion featuring Hope students, opportunities to meet with faculty members, and an overview of the residential life and student activities programs including tours of campus residence halls.  The Arts and Humanities Fair has been scheduled in conjunction with the first admissions Visitation Day of the semester.
