The Hope College Wind Symphony and Orchestra will perform a joint concert on Monday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The event was originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7, but was postponed due to the noro-like virus that prompted the college to be shut down from the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 7, through the early morning of Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The Wind Symphony will be continuing its exploration of core band repertoire on with "Band Classics II."  The program will include Vaughan Williams' "Toccata Marziale," Gustav Holst's "Second Suite in F for Military Band," Ernst Toch's "Spiel for Wind Orchestra" and Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music."

The Hope College Orchestra program will include works of Edouard Lalo, Anton Stepanovich Arensky and Antonin Dvorak. The orchestra will open with the Overture to "Le Roi D'ys" by Lalo. The second work on the program will feature the strings of the orchestra in "Variations on a theme by Tchaikovsky" by Arensky. Closing the program will be Dvorak's "Symphony No. 9 (New World) in E minor."

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at the corner of 12th Street and College Avenue.
