Hope College will present its annual Concerto/Aria concert on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert features students, who were selected through a competition held last November, performing with the Hope College orchestra. The five winners were: Katie Bennett, violin; Sally VanderPloeg, piano; Sarah Brown, flute; Brianna Sosenheimer, soprano, and Sarah Ashcroft, soprano.

The program will include works of Maurice Ravel, Sergi Prokofiev, Carl Reinecke and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The program will open with the "Light Cavalry Overture," by Franz von Suppe. VanderPloeg will perform the first movement of the "Concerto in G major," by Ravel.  Next will be a vocal aria, "Una donna a quindici anni," from Mozart's opera "Cosi fan tutti," with Sosenheimer as the soprano soloist. The program will continue with Bennett performing the first movement of the "Violin Concerto in G minor," by Prokofiev. The vocal aria "Porgi, amor, qualche ristoro," from Mozart's opera "Marriage of Figaro," will be performed by Ashcroft. The concert will close with the finale of Reinecke's "Flute Concerto in D major," performed by Brown.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
