The Hope College women's basketball team and the student organization Athletes Coming Together will team up with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) in the fight against breast cancer when the Flying Dutch host Adrian on Saturday (Feb. 14). The game at DeVos Fieldhouse will tipoff at 3 p.m.

The WBCA began the Pink Zone? in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast
cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities
across the nation. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year a success. In 2008, over 1,200 teams (including Hope) and organizations participated, reaching over 830,000 fans and raising over nearly $1 million dollars for breast cancer awareness and research.

To do their part the Flying Dutch will be wearing pink jerseys in
Saturday's game that have been sold to raise money. ACT will be
selling pink t-shirts, bracelets, jerseys, and collecting donations
along the concourse. There will also a basketball autographed by the
team to be raffled. All proceeds will go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer
Fund and the Avon Walk for the Cure.
