Two members of the 08-09 Hope women's golf team have been named an All-American Scholars by the National Golf Coaches Association.

Honored were Cassie Sneller of Holland (Hamilton HS) and Megan Scholten of Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids Christian HS).

Golfers needed to have played in at least two-thirds of their team's matches and maintained a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average.

A special education major, Sneller is being honored for a second time. Sneller will be a senior in the fall and serve as team captain for the second year. She was a second team All-MIAA honoree in 2008 finishing seventh in the player standings.

Scholten will be a sophomore in the fall.  She was a first team All-MIAA honoree as a freshmen finishing third in the player standings.

The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, represents nearly 500 women's collegiate golf coaches and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
