HOLLAND - The traditional Meet the Dutchmen scrimmage featuring the Hope football team will be held Saturday, Aug. 29.

The scrimmage will be held at the college's Ekdal J. Buys athletic fields, which are north of Holland Municipal Stadium.

The scrimmage will begin at 1 p.m.  Admission is free.

With a pre-season roster of 135 players, coach Dean Kreps and his staff have been busy preparing the team for the college's 100th year of gridiron action.

The Flying Dutchmen will open their season Saturday, Sept. 5 at Illinois Wesleyan University. The traditional Community Day home opener will be Saturday, Sept. 12 against Carthage, Wisc.

The Flying Dutchmen posted a 3-7 record in 2008 and finished tied for third place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The team has been predicted to finish third in this year's MIAA race.
