IDT (InSync Dance Theatre), an affiliate company of Hope College, on Saturday, April 10, will present its second annual repertory workshop focused on tap and jazz dance for middle and high school students who are interested in experiencing both traditional and cutting-edge choreography.

The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Registration includes tickets to one of IDT's performances at the Knickerbocker Theatre on either Friday, April 9, or Saturday, April 10, at 8 p.m.

Rhythm 2010 is open to intermediate and advanced dancers who are interested in working beyond technique by learning selections from IDT's annual concert. Dancers will work in HopeCollege's studios with IDT choreographers, directors and dancers.

For a day, participants will live the collegiate dance experience complete with four repertory classes, lunch at the dining hall, tickets to IDT's concert, and a chance to tap on-stage with the company to close the concert.

The cost is $75 per dancer. Two schedules of classes are available; one that includes tap and several styles of jazz, and another for non-tappers emphasizing various styles of jazz dance. Participants may choose to attend either the Friday or Saturday night performance.

Registration materials are available at www.hope.edu/rhythm.  Additional information about the workshop is available by contacting Rosanne Mork (Barton-DeVries) at devriesr@hope.edu or the college's department of dance at (616) 395-7700.
