Hope College will present its annual Spring Student Dance Concerts on Monday and Tuesday, April 19 and 20, at the Dow Center dance studio and on Monday and Tuesday, April 26 and 27, at the Knickerbocker Theatre at 8 p.m.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The concerts feature works choreographed and danced by Hope College students. Although many of them are dance majors and minors, not all students involved in the concert are conducting studies in the department of dance.

In addition, several works choreographed by the Composition I class will be premiered.  It is a semester-long course taught by Steven Iannacone that introduces students to choreographic structure of dance, including problems in space, motion, design, dynamics and theme.

All student works are adjudicated before the concerts, and then proceed to either the Dow studio concert or the Knickerbocker.  This year's adjudicators include Roberto Rodriguez of Ballet de San Juan and winner of the Latino ACE Award, and Tim Heck, a 2004 Hope graduate who has performed with Blue Man Group, Lucky Plush and Mucca Pazza.

The Knickerbocker Theater is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. Eighth St. The Dow Center dance studio is on the second floor of the Dow Center, located at 168 E. 13th St., on the corner of 13th Street and Columbia Avenue.
