Hope College's popular contribution to Holland's annual Tulip Time festival continues with organ recitals on Wednesday-Saturday, May 5-8.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Occurring every half-hour, the 20-minute performances begin at 10 a.m. with the last performance beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The organists include Marie Blauwkamp, a 1962 graduate from Zeeland; Dr. Elizabeth Claar, who teaching and performing includes serves as a staff accompanist at Hope; Susan DeKam, a 2002 graduate from Dallas, Texas; Christopher Dekker, a 2009 graduate from Hudsonville; Leah Hottel, a Hope senior from Westlake, Ohio; Peter Kurdziel, a 1996 graduate from Muskegon; Dr. Huw Lewis, who is a professor of music and college organist at Hope; Richard Newman, a 2006 graduate from Milan; Patricia Pratt, a 1981 graduate from Homer Glen, Ill.; Abigail Rockwood, a 2006 graduate from Muskegon; David Schout, a 2000 graduate from Zeeland; and Linda Strouf, a 1984 graduate who is an adjunct assistant professor of music at Hope.
Two organs will be used in the recitals: the Chancel Organ, which was built in 1929 by the E.M. Skinner Organ Company of Boston, Mass., and recently renovated, and the Gallery Organ, built in 1970 by Pels and Van Leeuwen Organ Company of Alkmaar, the Netherlands.
Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
