Hope College's Steven Strock of Grandville (Grandville HS) has been honored for outstanding performance on the golf course and in the classroom.

The team captain has been named to the PING All-America third team after finishing 20th at the NCAA Division III championships and honored as a Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.

Strock led the Flying Dutchmen to a school-best ninth place finish at the NCAA championships in Hershey, Pa. He averaged 74.25 strokes over the 72-hole tournament, best ever for a Hope golfer in the national competition. He is the second Hope golfer to achieve All-America honors joining Tommy Yamaoka (2007).

He is being honored as an All-America Scholar for the second year. The award is presented to golfers who have a stroke average under 79.0 and have maintained a minimum cumulative 3.2 grade point average. An accounting major, Strock is the first Hope golfer to achieve the distinction twice.

Strock was the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) medalist as both a junior and a senior.
