Both 2010 Hope women's and men's track teams have been named to the national All-Academic Team Honor Roll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for a fourth consecutive year.

Both 2010 Hope women's and men's track teams have been named to the national All-Academic Team Honor Roll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for a fourth consecutive year.

In addition, four athletes have been named to the association's National Scholar academic honor roll. They are John Donkersloot of Zeeland (Zeeland East HS), Jeffrey Minkus of Glen Ellyn Ill. (Glenbard West HS), Kara Vande Guchte of Hamilton (Hamilton HS), and Sarah Venlet of Zeeland (Holland Christian HS).

The Hope honorees are among 540 student-athletes from all NCAA Division III institutions to receive the distinction. To qualify, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 and obtained an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the national outdoor track & field championships.

Donkersloot, Minkus and Vande Guchte are each being honored for a third straight year. Each also received NCAA All-America honors this past spring at the national meet. Minkus graduated while Donkersloot and Vande Guchte will each be seniors next school year and Venlet will be a junior.

The Flying Dutch had a cumulative 3.37 grade point average. Haverford, Pa. topped the women's listing with a 3.66 GPA. Also honored from the MIAA were Albion (3.38) and Calvin (3.46).

The Flying Dutchmen had a cumulative 3.10 grade point average. Kenyon, Ohio topped the men's team with a 3.50 GPA. Also honored from the MIAA were Albion (3.12) and Calvin (3.18).
