The Hope College senior battery of Andrea Reinecke (Eaton Rapids/Eaton Rapids HS) and Abby Phillips (Wayland/Wayland HS) have been named first team honorees on the all-conference squad announced by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) coaches.

Reinecke has also been named the MIAA's most valuable pitcher. She led the MIAA with a sparkling 0.81 earned run average, posting a 7-1 record in conference play. She threw a league-best four shutouts, including a perfect game against Kalamazoo, and allowed only 32 hits in 52 innings pitched against conference opponents. For the season she posted an 11-5 record and 2.21 earned run average.

Phillips batted a team-leading .401 on the season and was the leader in total bases (82). She threw-out 10 baserunners.

Named to the All-MIAA second team were junior outfielder Stephanie Faber (Byron Center/GR South Christian HS) and freshman third baseman Emma Page (Portage/Portage Central HS).

The Flying Dutch, under first-year coach Mary Vande Hoef, finished second in the MIAA race and were 25-15-1 overall. The team's 12-4 league record included victories over two nationally ranked opponents.
