The final opening for the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre will be the musical Guys on Ice opening Monday, August 1 at the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland at 8 p.m. Book and lyrics are by Fred Alley and music is by James Kaplan.

You've seen them -- little wooden shanties on Lake Macatawa. You've met them - they are your cousins, uncles, brothers or friends and they LOVE ice fishing. In a cold world, on a cold day, on a frozen lake, it is a secret culture that thrives right here amongst us. With music and comedy, enter the world of the ice fishing culture and Packerobsessed Wisconsinites - and in fact, a comic phenomenon of our own upper Midwest!

This hilarious musical features two HSRT favorites, Michael Hanson and Teddy Yudain. Returning for his fifth season is Michael Hanson, playing Lloyd. You can also see him this season in Children of Eden as a Storyteller and as Tristam in Taking Steps. Previous HSRT credits include And Italian Straw Hat (Fadinard), The Cmplt Wrks of Wm Shkspr...Abrgd, Forever Plaid (Sparky), The Foreigner (Rev. David), The Last Night of Ballyhoo (Peachy), and She Loves Me (Head Waiter). He was also seen in The Tempest (Ferdinand), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Demetrius) at The Actors ShakespeareCompany at New JerseyCityUniversity, The Threepenny Opera (Matt the Mint) atColumbia Stages, Cabaret (Cliff), The Threepenny Opera (Macheath), and Shakespeare In Hollywood (Dick Powell) at Connecticut Repertory Theatre.

Teddy Yudain is returning to HSRT for his fourth summer and will be playing Marvin. He spent last summer at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey as part of the Next Stage Ensemble in their Summer Professional Training Program. Recent credits are Lysander/Flute/Fairy in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Cassius in Julius Caesar in STNJ's educational touring company Shakespeare LIVE! He also made his Off-Broadway debut in the fall working with director Moisés Kaufman as a puppeteer in the opera El Gato Con Botas. Past HSRT credits include: Juliet/Ophelia/etc. in Cmplt Wrks of Shkspr Abrdgd, Jinx in Forever Plaid, Judas in Godspell, Ellard in The Foreigner, and Leo Davis in Room Service. Teddy received his BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut.

Kevin Coubal is also joining the cast as Ernie the Moocher for his first season with HSRT. He can also be seen in the ensemble of Children of Eden and as Leslie in Taking Steps.

Directing the production is David Colacci, who is returning for his twenty-sixth season with HSRT and twentieth as Artistic Director. Recent productions David has directed include Into the Woods, Room Service, Kiss Me, Kate, Godspell, Seussical, AsYou Like It, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, Oliver, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Shakespeare in Hollywood. Among the roles he has played are Charlie in The Foreigner, Morgan in The Drawer Boy, Mark in Art, Queeg in The Canine Mutiny Court Martial, Nicely in Guys and Dolls, Lenny in Rumors, Frank in Educating Rita, Billy in BillyBishop Goes to War, and Oscar in The Odd Couple. He has also won numerous awards as a narrator of audio books, including an Audie nomination this year for Philip Pan's Outof Mao's Shadow.

Performances of Guys on Ice continue for a limited run on August 2, 4, 8, and 10.

Tickets are now on sale through the DeWitt and DeVos Fieldhouse ticket offices. Prices range from $10-$26 for musicals and $8-$19 for plays. Season tickets, ranging rom $48-$85, are also available.

The ticket office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Beginning June 14 the ticket office is open on Saturdays at noon. On performance dates,the DeWitt Ticket Office will be open through intermission.
