The Hope College women have received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III

cross country championships. The Flying Dutch finished third at the

Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, Nov. 12. (Calvin, as regional champion, will

also compete at nationals.)

*Nationals will be run in Oshkosh, Wisc. next Saturday, Nov. 19. The

national field will be comprised of 32 teams and 56 individuals who

are not part of a qualifying team.

* The Flying Dutch, coached by Mark Northuis, will be making their

second straight appearance at nationals and the fifth in school

history. Last year Hope was 19th. Other years -- 12th in 1994, 17th in

both 1997 and 1998.
