A group of six students from the department of dance at Hope College will be performing in a collegiate showcase concert on Saturday, Feb. 4, as part of the inaugural dance season at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts in West Bloomfield.

Sophomore Kelsey Baker of Palatine, Ill., junior Lydia Blickley of Grand Rapids, junior Rachel Cho of Barrington, Ill., senior Allyson Dreger of Kalamazoo, senior Jamie Hinds of Ironwood and sophomore Sarah Rolain of Rochester will be performing Professor Steven Iannacone’s “sur la table” in an evening of dance that will highlight some of Michigan’s top dance universities.

Billed as “Michigan 5,” the evening promises to be “an exceptional event highlighting the extraordinary talent in Michigan; showcasing the best dance from the state’s top five universities and colleges.”  Other colleges/universities that will be performing include Oakland University, Grand Valley State University, Marygrove College and Wayne State University.

The performance will take place Saturday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at the door or by calling the Berman Center for the Performing Arts ticket office at (248) 661-1900.  The Berman Center for the performing arts is located on the campus of the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, 6600 W.
