The Hope College Symphonette, under the direction of Professor Richard Piippo, has announced its annual spring tour which will include concerts in Ohio, North Carolina and Florida from March 16-21. The Symphonette members are selected from the larger college symphony orchestra. The annual tour has taken the Symphonette from coast to coast in the United States as well as two Provinces in Canada, the British Isles, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Performing with the Symphonette will be lyric soprano Linda LeFever Dykstra, a Hope professor who is chair of the voice division at the college and teaches Applied Voice, English/Italian and German Diction and directs the college's Musical Theatre Workshop.

Richard Piippo has been a member of the Hope College faculty since 1999. He is professor of cello/chamber music and conductor of orchestras. A cellist, he is active as a conductor, solo performer, teacher and coach. He has toured with the Detroit Symphony and appears as soloist and chamber player throughout the United States and Canada.
