Hope swimmers counted three honorable mention All-America performances at the NCAA Division III championships which concluded this past Saturday in Indianapolis. The top eight performances at nationals are declared All-America while ninth through 16th is considered honorable mention All-America. Hope's All-America performances were:

Hope swimmers counted three honorable mention All-America performances at the NCAA Division III championships which concluded this past Saturday in Indianapolis. The top eight performances at nationals are declared All-America while ninth through 16th is considered honorable mention All-America. Hope's All-America performances were:

* Junior Josh Grabijas (Howell/Howell HS) was 12th in the marathon 1,650-yard freestyle (15:55.31). Competing at nationals for a third consecutive year, he was 17th as a sophomore and 18th as a freshman.

* Junior Libby Westrate (Grandville/Grandville HS) was 13th in the 50-yard freestyle (:23.74). Competing at nationals for the third consecutive year, Westrate was 20th as a sophomore and 18th as a freshman.

* The women's 800-yard freestyle relay finished 12th. The quartet of senior Sarah Sohn (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect HS), junior Erin Holstad (Traverse City/Traverse City West HS, senior Chelsea Wiese (Rochester/Rochester Adams HS); and junior Libby Westrate (Grandville/Grandville HS) was timed in 7:39.73.

Coached by John Patnott, the Flying Dutch finished 38th in the women's standings with 14 points while the Flying Dutchmen were 45th with five points.
