Hope Summer Repertory Theatre is proud to announce J.B. Priestly’s dark mystery, An Inspector Calls, making its debut on the Dewitt stage on Friday, July 20th. Taking place in Britain before World War One, this mysterious drama brings startling revelations that shake the very foundation of the Birling household and challenges us all to examine our conscience. Performances are July 20, 21, 27, 30, and August 3, 7, and 9 at 8:00 p.m at the DeWitt Theatre.

The Birling household is shocked by the visit of a so-called Inspector Goole, investigating the death of a young working class woman. His accusation of the Birlings brings a startling revelation to their lives and forces them to not only reminisce on their actions, but also suffer the consequences. Priestly’s work is known to be politically driven, and this drama is no different. The audience will take a journey alongside the actors, making us re-examine our own lives. This drama will leave the audience asking questions and wanting the answers to unlock the mystery presented by the Inspector. Who is this young woman? Who is this mysterious Inspector Goole? Most importantly, who is the one responsible for the untimely demise of this working class woman?

The seven person cast includes: Will Haden (Kingsport, TN) as Inspector Goole, Chip Duford (AEA)(Flushing, MI) as Arthur Birling, Alicia Force (Dallas, TX) as Sybil Birling, Russell Jonas (Dallas, TX) as Gerald Croft, Susanna Stahlmann (New Hope, MN) as Sheiling Birling, John Telfer (Western Spring, IL) as Eric Birling, and Kara Williams (Saline, MI) as Edna.

Sargent, Sound Designer Ryan Mutton, Stage Manager Kristin Kurz, and Technical Director Leah Busse.
