Provost Emeritus Jim Boelkins has been presented the Center for Faithful Leadership's Servant Leader-in-Residence Award.

The award recognizes transformational people of outstanding character and competence who unselfishly serve students and help educate them "for lives of leadership and service... in the context of the historic Christian faith."

Since his retirement in 2011, Dr. Boelkins has been working with students and the Holland Rescue Mission on "The Gap" project, creating a model for residential living for the chronically homeless called "The Shepherd House."

He is pictured receiving the award from senior management major Katelyn Barry and Dr. Steve VanderVeen, director of the Center for Faithful Leadership.
