The Hope College women’s golf team has four team members chosen All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.

The national honor roll recognizes 644 golfers from NCAA Division I, II and III programs who achieved a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average during the 2012-13 school year.

Hope’s honorees are sophomore Montana Leep of Hastings (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), senior Charlotte Park of Grosse Pointe Farms (Grosse Pointe South HS), sophomore Andrea Powell of Jenison (Hudsonville HS) and freshman Chelsea Root of Haslett (Haslett HS).The school year listed for each honoree is for 2012-13.

This is Park’s third WGCA All-American award and the first for Leep, Powell and Root.

Park also claimed All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic First Team Honors and the MIAA Women’s Sportsmanship Award during the 2012-13 school year. 

Park, Leep, Powell and Root all were among 182 Hope student-athletes who made the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for the 2012-13 school year by maintaining at least a 3.5 grade point average.
