Hope Summer Repertory Theatre is holding auditions for children to be in a summer production of “The Sound of Music” on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 10 a.m. in the DeWitt Center studio theatre.

Auditions will be held for the roles of the von Trapp family children.  Children should be between the ages of five and 16, although casting is flexible.  Auditions will include singing and reading from the script. No previous acting experience necessary. Performances are currently scheduled for June 13, 14, 20, 25, 28; July 2, 10, 16, 21, 24, 29; August 2, 4, 7, although that is subject to change.

Those interested in participating should e-mail the name of the child and a half-hour window of availability. A five-minute audition can be scheduled by emailing: kate.hsrt@gmail.com. The time slots are from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The DeWitt Center is located at 141 E. 12th St., facing Columbia Avenue at 12th Street.  The studio theatre is on the ground level of the building, near the southeast corner.
