Kat Dickson

Hope College goalie Kat Dickson has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week in Women’s Soccer for games played through Oct. 25.

The senior from Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), extended her streak of consecutive minutes without allowing a goal to 495 as the Flying Dutch clinched a share of the MIAA championship.

Dickson made two saves in a 2-0 win over Saint Mary’s and five stops in a 1-0 shutout of Alma.

Dickson, who leads the MIAA in goals-against average (0.35 in league play), is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in her career.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when the Flying Dutch host Kalamazoo at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is noon.
