Two players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Hope College women’s soccer team have received all-region recognition: forwards Nora Kirk and Erin Jipping.
Kirk, a senior from Maumee, Ohio (Notre Dame Academy), made the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire All-Central Region Second Team.
Jipping, a senior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), is on the NSCAA All-Central Region Third Team.
Kirk tied for the team lead with nine goals this season. She finished tied for fifth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in goal scored. She also earned All-MIAA First Team honors.
Jipping was fourth on Hope in scoring with 14 points. She had five goals and four assists. Her assists were second-highest among Flying Dutch players. Jipping claimed All-MIAA Second Team honors.
Hope completed the 2014 season with a 17-4-1 overall. The Flying Dutch reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament and won MIAA regular-season and tournament titles.
