Hope College will present its annual Concerto and Aria Concert featuring student soloists performing with the college’s orchestra on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The concert will feature three students who were selected through a competition held this past November.  The students, all of whom are sophomores, and the selections they will be performing are: Stanna Dorn, a flautist from Lewiston, who will perform the “Concerto for Flute and String Orchestra (first movement),” by Gordon Jacob; Hilary Hunsberger, an alto saxophonist from Fennville, who will perform “Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra (first movement),” by Paul Creston; and Manna Shintani, a violinist from Tokyo, Japan, who will perform “Violin Concerto in D Major (first movement),” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The Hope College Orchestra is directed by Ingrid Lestrud, who is a visiting associate professor of music and director of orchestras.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
