Hope College received an honorable mention in the article “The 10 Best Dance Colleges in the Country” by OnStageBlog.com. Hope is one of only seven colleges and universities with honorable mention.

“It's no secret among those who know us that the Hope College dance department produces top-rate dancers, educators, doctors and artists — but what may not be known is that the department also houses nationally and internationally recognized faculty, creative staff and guests,” said Matt Farmer, chair of Hope’s dance department.

Hope was the first private undergraduate liberal arts dance program to be accredited in the United States, and was recently selected as among the best in the nation in the new, fourth edition of the book Creative Colleges: A Guide for Student Actors, Artists, Dancers, Musicians and Writers.

“This honorable mention from OnStage highlights these many strengths and puts Hope College on the map. I have no doubt that you will be hearing more about the dance department in the coming years,” Farmer said.

OnStage covers theatre performances across the country and publishes reviews and columns. The OnStage Critics Circle awards the best and brightest in theatrical performances every year with the OnStage Critics Award.
