Hope College’s Mark Northuis has been selected the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in women’s cross country for the 2015 season.

Hope College’s Mark Northuis has been selected the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in women’s cross country for the 2015 season.

Northuis led the Flying Dutch to their second Great Lakes Regional title in four years and fifth regional title this season. Hope qualified for nationals for the sixth consecutive season and finished 28th at the Division III championships.

Northuis also coached junior All-American Erin Herrmann, who placed 34th at nationals. 

Northuis also guided the Flying Dutch to their seventh Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship all-time and second in four years this fall. 

During his tenure, Hope has finished third or higher in the conference standings every year.
