Hope College’s Lauren Hazekamp has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Specialty Player of the Week for matches played through October 24.
It is the third time this season Hazekamp has been honored and the sixth time in her career.
The senior setter from Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), led 10th-ranked Hope to a 3-0 mark last week.
Hazekamp posted a double-double in a 3-1 road win at Adrian on Friday with 42 assists and 23 digs. She also connected on seven kills, and added an ace and a dig in the effort against the Bulldogs.
She came up just shy of two more double-double effort with nine digs apiece in wins at Trine and versus Saint Mary’s.
Hazekamp assisted on 46 attacks on Tuesday at Trine and added 29 assists against the Belles on Saturday.
Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Kalamazoo.
