Hope College’s Francesca Buchanan has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played January 8-14.
The junior forward from Grant, Michigan (Sparta HS) averaged 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds during MIAA wins against Alma and Calvin last week.
In a 58-51 victory against Calvin on Saturday at DeVos Fieldhouse, Buchanan posted a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds while adding one steal and one block.
In an 82-64 win at Alma on Wednesday, Buchanan registered 19 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
This is the second time this season and the third time in Buchanan’s career she has been named MIAA Player of the Week.
