Hope College finished runner-up for the 2017-18 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Commissioner’s Cup standings with 130 points.
The MIAA determines Commissioner’s Cup standings on the cumulative performance of
each school in the league’s 22 sports (11 per gender). Each school counts its top
eight team finishes in each gender.
This school year, Hope College won a total of eight MIAA championships: women’s cross
country, women’s soccer, women’s indoor track & field, men’s basketball (tie), women’s
basketball (tie), men’s lacrosse, women’s tennis, and women’s outdoor track & field.
Hope College women’s teams led the MIAA with 69.5 of a possible 72 points and six
league titles. Hope College men’s teams had the second-most points among MIAA schools
with 60.5.
Hope College finished two points out of first place in the overall standings.
Hope College remains the MIAA leader with 35 Commissioner’s Cups.
