Hope College second baseman Sierra Mutschler has been selected Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Softball Position Player of the Week.
The senior from Wayland, Michigan (Wayland HS) batted .526 with 1.211 slugging percentage
with 14 RBI and four home runs in a 5-1 week for the Flying Dutch.
In a road doubleheader sweep of No. 13 Trine Saturday, Mutschler smacked one home
run in each win while totaling seven RBI. She set Hope’s career home run record with
25.
In a home doubleheader sweep of Kalamazoo Friday, Mutschler went 5-for-8 with six RBI and two runs scored.
In a home split with No. 7 Saint Mary’s Thursday, Mutschler batted 2-for-5 with 1 run scored and one RBI.
This is Mutschler’s second MIAA weekly honor all time and the first this season.
