Men’s soccer forward Logan Bylsma has joined a select group of Hope College student-athletes as repeat recipients of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Award.

One of 11 first-team selections in NCAA Division III men’s soccer for the 2019 season, Bylsma is the 12th Hope student-athlete to be chosen as a CoSIDA Academic All-American twice. 

In 2018, Bylsma received CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team honors. 

The Division III Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division III Academic All-America® teams.

A senior from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS), Bylsma is a public accounting major who held a 3.92 grade point average heading into the fall semester.  

This fall, Bylsma finished fourth among Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association goal scorers with a team-leading 13 goals in 21 matches. He also recorded a career-best five assists.

Bylsma helped the Flying Dutchmen record their second consecutive 14-win season and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 14th time in team history.

The 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Team featured 33 student-athletes across the nation. There were 11 first-team, 13 second-team and nine third-team honorees.

CoSIDA was founded in 1957 and is a 3,000+ member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, media relations and communications/information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada.
