The 2018-19 Hope College men’s golf team has earned Outstanding Team Academic honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

To be eligible for GCAA Outstanding Team Academic honors a college or university must record a team GPA of 3.0 or higher that is calculated by GPAs for each player on their official squad list for the academic year.

Hope is among 28 NCAA Division III teams to receive the honor.

"This honor recognizes the talent and hard work of the members of our team,” head coach Scott Lokers said. “These young men embody the definition of student-athlete."

Last season, the Flying Dutchmen finished in ninth place at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship for its third consecutive Top 10 finish at nationals.

Hope also claimed its third Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular-season title in four years and won the MIAA’s NCAA qualifier for the sixth consecutive season.
